Certification

CCRS application for CCRS | CCRS application for CRA

Certification is a requirement for most of the Professional Repossessor Associations. CCRS is recognized and accepted by NFA, ARA, TFA and AFA.

Almost all active professionals who have earned a designation such as MD, CPA, DDS, etc. must, to maintain the creditability of the designation., fulfill continuing educational requirements from time to time to maintain their status and be allowed to perform under their designation. When the CCRS program was written in 1991, it was stated there would be continuing educational requirements. Now is the time.

The Society has recently passed an amendment to its By-Laws that now allows any Profession Repossession operation to apply for the CCRS Certification.

The new course and the continuing education for the CCRS includes a 75 question test. The test covers UCC, Bankruptcy, Trespass, default of loans including no insurance, acceleration clause, FDBCA, Skip Tracing, Right to Cure, 14th Amendment, Personal Property, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Garage Keeper Liens, Soldiers and Sailors Civil Relief Act, Assault, Conversion, Field Call, Stakeout, Trespass after warning, Hold Harmless Agreement, Using a Badge, and the new Telephone Records and Privacy Act.

The CCRS program is administrated by the SCRS “Society of Certified Recovery Specialists”. It is a “not for profit” Corporation. All monies collected have been spent for educational material, printing, developing ads, certificates, and the betterment of the Certification programs.

Each year SCRS sends a list to TFA, NFA, ARA and AFA with the names of those who are valid CCRS for a 2 year period. Now is the time to request, take the course, pass the open book test and be validated as a CCRS.

Fee for Application, Investigation, course material, test, grading, and certificate: If you’re a member of NFA, ARA, TFA or AFA your fee is $90.00 – FOR NON-MEMBERS FEE OF $150.00
